Eating And Drinking

Kaf? Bromo , Sheraton Surabaya Hotel. Probably the best of the top-class hotel restaurants, although it's fairly informal. The fabulous Rp30,000 lunchtime buffet and Rp37,500 dinner buffet features Indonesian, Western, Chinese and Japanese options and a whole counter of desserts.

Kaf? Excelso This Indonesian chain has branches on the ground floor of Surabaya Plaza and a couple in Tunjungan Plaza, and has an excellent choice of expensive Indonesian coffees plus iced coffee, salads, snacks, cakes and ice creams.

Caf? Mirota , Jl Sulawesi 24. Attached to the souvenir shop of the same name, this caf? serves snacks and light meals of soup, rice and noodles.

Tunjungan Plaza Food Court Huge seventh-floor food court, featuring McDonald' s, Singaporean noodles, Cajun grills, ice cream, cr?pes and kebabs.

Turin Ice Cream , Jl Kayun 10a. The address is a bit misleading: the entrance is at the east end of Jl Embong Kenongo. They have a small menu of moderately priced Indonesian and Chinese food, but the speciality is their own ice cream, which ranges from vanilla through durian.

Caf? Venezia , Jl Ambengan 16. Comprehensive mid-priced menu of Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Western food, plus plenty of ice creams and sundaes.
