To get to the bus terminal take a bemo from the Jalan Hassanuddin-Jalan Bank Rakyat crossraods. Buses to Balikapan (Rp3500-23,500) and Samarinda (Rp17,000-27,000) start leaving mid-afternoon. There are also daily buses to and from Palankaraya and frequent services to Martapura.

Speedboats to Palangkaraya (Rp25,000) leave from near the Grand Mosque on Jalan Pos and leave when full until early afternoon. Pelni 's Kelimutu crosses to Surbaya (24hr) several times a week from Trisakt Docks, and the KM Sirimau occasionally calls in on its way to Makassar from Semarang; the Pelni office is about 1km southwest of the centre on Jalan Martadinta.
