Airlines All the domestic airlines have ticket counters at the airport. There are also some additional offices: Air Mark, Selaparang Airport (tel 0370/643564); Bouraq Airlines, Hotel Selaparang, Jl Pejanggik 40-42, Mataram (tel 0370/627333); Merpati, Jl Pejanggik 69 (tel 0370/636745, airport tel 0370/633691); PT Nitour Inc (Merpati and Garuda agents), Jl Yos Sudarso 4 (tel 0370/623672); Garuda, Hotel Lombok Raya, Jl Panca Usaha 11 (tel 0370/637950, airport tel 0370/622987 ext 246). Silk Air is the only international airline office on Lombok - it's in Senggigi .

Banks and exchange All the large Mataram and Cakra banks change money and travellers' cheques. The most convenient if you are staying in Cakra is the Bank of Central Asia, Jalan Pejanggik 67, which also has an ATM which accepts Visa cards and is connected to the Cirrus and Maestro networks. For longer hours (Mon-Sat 8.30am-5pm) there are a couple of moneychangers on Jl Saleh Sungkar, just north of the junction with Jl Yos Sudarso. If you are coming from the east of the island and desperate for cash there is a BCA ATM which accepts Visa cards and is connected to the Cirrus and Maestro networks on Jalan Sandubaya, about 500m west of the Mandalika bus terminal. If you are getting money wired from overseas, Western Union use the main branch of Bank Internasional Indonesia (BII), Jl Gede Ngurah 4B, Mataram .

Internet access Internet A & N, Jl Koperasi 30 (8am-8pm; Rp400 per minute), almost opposite Hotel Zahir in Ampenan. The main post office on Jl Sriwijaya offers public Internet access (daily except Sun 8am-4pm, Sun 8am-2pm; Rp2500 per 15 min and then Rp200 per min).

Motorbike rental If you know a bit about bikes and aren't worried about insurance, the main rental place is at the roadside at Jalan Gelantik 21, Cakranegara, a couple of hundred metres west of the Srikandi losmen on Jalan Kebudayaan.

Post office , Jl Sriwijaya, Mataram. This is the main post office in Lombok (Mon-Thurs & Sat 8am-2pm, Fri 8-11am, Sun 8am-noon) and also offers public access to the Internet (daily except Sun 8am-4pm, Sun 8am-2pm; Rp2500 per 15 min and then Rp200 per min). For simply sending things, the post office at Jl Langko 21 opposite the tourist office is more accessible, as is the one on Jl Kebudayaan (same hours). For poste restante the Senggigi post office is more used to dealing with tourists.

Telephone services The main telephone office is at Jl Langko 23, opposite the tourist office (daily; 24hr), but there are also plenty of wartels in town including Jl Panca Usaha 22B (8am-midnight); Jl Saleh Sungkar 2G (7.30am-midnight); Jl Pejanggik 105 (6.30am-11pm).
