Sam Ratulangi airport is 12km northeast of Pasar 45; taxis and touts meet new arrivals, or take a microlet to Terminal Paal Dua. Long-distance buses to and from Gorontalo and Makassar stop on Manado's southern outskirts at Terminal Malalayang ; Paris Express have air-con and Marina have older buses. Microlets #1, #2, #3 and #4 run betweeen here and Pasar 45. Minibuses to and from the Minahasa highlands arrive southeast at Terminal Karombasan ; microlets #9, #13, and "Wanea" run from here to Pasar 45. Services to and from Airmadidi, Girian from Bitung (the regional Pelni port) use Terminal Paal Dua , from where microlet "Paal II-Pasar 45" runs to Pasar 45.

The Pelni office is opposite Telkom on Jalan Sam Ratulangi, and organizes tickets out of Bitung. For tickets and schedules for boats from Manado to Tahuna on Sangihe Island, Lirung on Pulau Talaud, and Ambon, try agents in the streets between Pasar 45 and the dock.
